In 1978 Walt Price unknowingly co-founded the Mountain Goat, starting it as an extension of an exercise class.  40 years later and the Goat is an honored tradition in the running community, all thanks to Walt.  He was also responsible for the Syracuse YMCA Green Lakes Triathlon, the longest running  triathlon in the area.  In 1981, he also created the Folksmarch, a walk strictly made for fun and exercise with others where you can go at your own pace.  They have taken these events all over the world!  Even with teaching his fitness classes, organizing the Folksmarch and the Green Lakes Triathlon, Walt still makes an appearance every Saturday in April for the Mountain Goat training runs.  He can be seen outside his house cheering on the runners and ringing his bell of encouragement.
