Margaret Hartmann may have logged more volunteer hours for the Mountain Goat than any other person. For over 25 years, she has always taken vacation time the week of the Goat so that she could make sure that the volunteer T shirts were ready and so she would be able to work the entire expo and the race. Volunteer T shirt coordinator, race expo registrations, race day set up and tear down, finish line chute, photography - Margaret has done it all and then some.
Margaret has been the President of the Syracuse Track Club since 2000. She has also been a national class masters runner, including awards at the Boilermaker and the Chicago Marathon. After a long career at Verizon, she now spends her time as a dog sitter and whimsical traveler.
Margaret truly embodies everything that defines the Mountain Goat, and we are proud to honor her this year.
